Christmas Conversations

As we come in to the Christmas – New Year period it is a time for family and friends to come together. This year it will also be at a time when many people on the land are well and truly stressed out by the ongoing drought.

Whilst recent rainfall has been welcomed by those who received it, there are still areas of the Northern tablelands which have sadly missed out entirely.

The end of a year is often also a time of reflection. Some people may be thinking about downsizing or indeed, expanding their operations. If you’re either of these, it is reassuring that underlying commodity prices and market conditions for our region’s produce are healthy and as such those moving out are assured of demand for their property and those seeking to invest can do so with confidence.

If only the drought would break. We can’t do anything about that as individuals, so as well as perhaps having that conversation with family, make sure you recharge your batteries, enjoy family and friends and come back into 2019 with renewed vigour. It’s what I plan to do!
